AN ANIMAL rights activist has accused grocery store chain Sainsbury’s of animal cruelty after discovering a “bloodbath” of birds caught of their wire netting.
Saffron Gloyne was visiting a Sainsbury’s department in Sutton, Surrey final Saturday when she was left horrified after noticing an array of limp, lifeless birds hanging from the mesh above her.
The 43-year-old shot a video of the disturbing scenes, describing the scenario as an “absolute bloodbath“.
The video begins with Saffron filming the metal mesh – meant for pest management – looming above her, hanging from the roof of the shop’s automobile park.
